Allan Knox arrived at King James VI in early 2008.
Allan had previously worked at Dunbar Golf Club in the club shop, before an eight-year stint as assistant to David Murchie at Crieff Golf Club. In a spell at Crieff which encompassed a whole range of club duties, Allan built up a portfolio of skills which made him the ideal choice to become our club professional in time for the 2008 season.
He passed that first season with great distinction, gaining respect for his coaching abilities and the speed in which he took to setting up the club shop almost from scratch.
"Catering for a large spectrum of members and visitors, it requires a great knowledge of up and coming trends and customers needs, a well-stocked shop should reflect this," Allan said.
He continues: "Golf Club success is achieved by every aspect of the club working together. I feel the professional shop is a major cog in the golf club machine."
